Vikings Lose: 29 - 54
Niles lost to Dowagiac in the second round of the District Tournament.  The Viking's leading scorers and rebounders, Elly Matlock and Amirah Lee, were out of the game early due to foul trouble and an injury.  This really hampered the Niles' scoring and presence in the paint during the first half.  Niles' second half was sparked by the defense from freshman, Madison Zache, with several deflections and 4 steals.  Freshman, Tanaya Brown, lit up the court with all of her 20 points in the second half along with 8 rebounds.  Unfortunately, Dowagiac's lead was too large for Niles to make an impact.   Despite Niles' record (0-22) we have seen progress in every practice and game.  We wish the best to the Seniors, Allison Andres, Lacheryl Hampton, Amirah Lee, and Kaylynn Radecki.  To our underclassmen, we look forward to seeing you put work in the off-season and be ready to compete next year.
